Research Interests:

My research focuses on modeling and analysis of empirical data and complex networks. I use techniques from statistical mechanics to study emergent behavior and critical phenomena in complex systems. I have analyzed complex networks obtained in various models relevant to fields as widely separated as economic networks of supplier-customer, financial trading, disease spreading, disc models of percolation, and networks constructed from seismic data. Rigorous techniques from the analysis of complex network data have yielded valuable insights into the behavior of each kind of system. I am particularly interested in problems that can be tackled analytically and computationally, as these approaches provide complementary insights. Apart from complex networks, I have also worked in the field of collective behavior, specifically the model of flocking.
