In today’s data-driven world, considering the contemporary need for training business-ready professionals, IISER Tirupati is launching the following Professional Master’s Programs:
1. Biological Data Science (BioDS)
2. Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DS-AI)

The Professional Master’s Program at IISER Tirupati is aimed at highly motivated students who wish to pursue/progress their career in Data Science and allied fields. Students with an excellent academic record can apply for the Professional Master’s Program upon completion of a four-year Bachelor‘s degree in science or technology or a Master’s degree in science or technology. The program combine curricula for theoretical and applied topics, blending together course work and hands-on learning. This enables the participants to be business-ready and industry-ready immediately upon successful completion of the program. The program will be offered in hybrid/online mode to enable seamless participation of working professionals.

IISER Tirupati offers modern research laboratories and computational facilities. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of seminars, meetings and workshops, thereby giving them a chance to interact with people from other research organizations within the country and abroad.

Applicants with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6.0/10.0 in any four-year undergraduate degree in Science(BS) or Technology(B.E./B.Tech.), or with at least 55% aggregate marks or a minimum CGPA of 5.5/10.0 in Master’s degree in Science(MS / M.Sc.) or Technology (M.E./ M.Tech.), are eligible to apply. ADMISSION TO Ph.D. PROGRAM – JANUARY 2024

IISER Tirupati invites applications from prospective candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program in January 2024. IISER Tirupati admits students in the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Earth and Climate Sciences, and associated interdisciplinary areas of research. In addition to research, the program involves coursework and teaching assistantships.

General Information to the Applicants:

The candidate MUST have qualified at least ONE of the above-mentioned essential eligibility criteria in relevant discipline.
The fellowships/scores/ranks must be valid at the time of joining the course.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST, PWD and KM category, the percentage of marks may be relaxed by 5% or 0.5 in the case of CGPA.
Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree (as mentioned in the minimum criteria) are also eligible to apply. However, their final selection is subject to their successful completion of the qualifying degree with the above-mentioned requirements at the time of admission. A provisional degree certificate is mandatory at the time of admission.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection Procedure:

The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and the final selection is based on interview performance.

TA/DA will be provided to the SC/ST/PD students appearing for the interview as per institute norms.

Applying does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for an interview. The respective departments may use additional criteria (based on academic performance and/or performance in the national level tests) to shortlist candidates for interviews.

Fellowship:

Upon selection and subsequently joining the PhD program, candidates who do not possess any CSIR, DBT and INSPIRE, will be eligible for institute fellowship at par with CSIR, DBT etc., but without HRA and Contingency components.

Age Relaxation:

Preferably not more than 28 years at the time of joining. Age relaxation of 3 years will be given for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates as per GOI norms. Candidates belonging to the reserved category will have to submit relevant certificates, if selected. Relaxation may also be given whenever suitable candidates are not available, in exceptional circumstances.
