- Our lab investigates the long-term impact of metabolism on neuronal structure and function, with a focus on hyperglycemia-induced changes. By uncovering the mechanisms driving diabetes-related neurodegeneration in the brain and eye, we aim to bridge fundamental research with clinical applications. Through collaborations with clinicians in Tirupati, we are advancing translational projects on Traumatic Brain Injury, Glioblastoma, and the role of altered glycemic conditions in brain disorder recovery. Our work paves the way for novel therapeutic insights into metabolic influences on neural health.
Newer research interest (in collaboration with external institutes/industry)
- STEM education and research in newer teaching methods in interdisciplinary biology teaching.
