Program overview

The integrated BSโ€“MS program provides a rigorous foundational coursework in the first three semesters, training in advanced and specialized topics in the next five semesters, followed by a research thesis in the last two semesters. The curriculum is organised semester-wise and includes computational and laboratory courses, leading to skill development early on.

Pedagogical training

Theoretical courses in core and selective areas, along with lab courses, computing, and data analysis.

Research training

Students undertake a research thesis under faculty supervision, with possible international collaborations and publications. There are also opportunities for semester projects and internships.

Interdisciplinary training

Students may take courses from Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Climate Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, or Mathematics if they wish.
